The Puppeteer

Once there was a puppeteer who traveled the lands with moderate success. He could barely stay afloat until he met a talking wooden puppet. He was able to convince it to perform with him and thus achieved unexpected fame. One morning, he woke up and the wooden puppet, along with all the earnings, had disappeared. The desperate puppeteer then tried to carve a talking puppet himself, but all efforts seemed in vain. Then, the once so friendly puppeteer hatched a cruel plan - from now on real people were to be the material for his puppet show instead of lifeless wood. So, he settled in Berlin, his last performance location, to look for suitable victims. And the first group of spectators who entered the puppeteer's theater were never seen again...
