About the escape room

Trembling, you stare at the strange clues in your hands. Again and again you read in your mind the cryptic lines your friends have left you. Fog shrouds the dark forest. You hear mysterious whispers. What lurks there among the gnarled trees? Eerie shadows flit back and forth. You remember the villagers' last warning, "Never enter the forest at night, or it will be your last." All clues to your friends' whereabouts lead to a weathered hut at the edge of the forest. Do you dare to follow the tracks? On a playing area of 200 square meters you will experience an immersive thriller in a dark forest (indoor), but be warned - in dark forests you rarely are alone! Do not enter the experience if you are very afraid of the dark. We recommend that you wear sturdy shoes and not your best clothes for your experience. The smaller the group, the more intense the experience. One of the most spectacular horror Escape Rooms in Europe awaits you at our location in Wuppertal-Barmen.

Overview of artificial intelligence

AIReviews rave about the atmosphere, set design, and performances; words like cinematic, immersive, and consistently tense come up again and again. The horror is intense, driven by darkness, fog, sound, and direct interaction with the performers. Puzzles are described as on the easier side, but fit the flow and feel just right under stress. There is occasional criticism of fog that's too dense, very little light, a few too many actor moments, unclear story motives, and a hint system that could be smoother.
WeaknessesSome would prefer less fog and a bit more light; toward the end, some groups felt left behind with very few lamps. Story goals aren't always crystal clear; the hint system could be cleaner. With larger groups, the intensity suffers.
StrengthsCinematic intro, vast and believable forest set, strong use of light, sound, and wind create constant tension. The actors are top-notch and stay in character, which boosts the in-the-middle feeling. The flow is smooth; many make it through without hints.
SecurityIt's very dark, with fog and uneven ground; sturdy footwear helps, and the team monitors the game. One group found the heavily reduced lighting at the end potentially problematic.
Level of fearVery scary, with jump scares and virtually no breathers; not for children or the faint of heart. Smaller groups experience it even more intensely.
Actors' gameThe scare actors work up close, improvise heavily, and stay firmly in character. Some found the frequency of appearances a bit high, but most praise them as a highlight.
Quality of riddlesPuzzles are easy to medium, fair, and thematically embedded. Manageable under stress and never in the way of immersion. A few wanted clearer links between tasks and story.
PlotYou follow clues from your missing friends into a gloomy forest and to a cabin on the edge, where nothing is as it seems. The story carries the mood without giving too much away; the ending surprises some in a good way.
Difficulty levelPuzzle-wise, accessible for beginners and immersion-focused players, while horror fans will enjoy it. Experienced puzzlers find it rather easy, yet the tension still makes it demanding.

The most intense game I've experienced so far. The setting is incredible; the opening feels real and brutally creepy. I would have preferred less fog, a bit more light, less frequent actor moments, and a better hint system.

One of the best experiences in Germany. It’s best not to play with more than four, otherwise the atmosphere gets lost. Lots of jump scares, plus a well-rounded story with a surprising finale and an outstanding setting.

Amazing setting, but the fog was too dense for me and the lamps became too scarce toward the end. The story objectives could have been clearer. Still, a strong experience.
