About the escape room
Our second outdoor escape adventure leads you with an exciting story up the Kalkberg. During a geological excavation at the Lüneburg Kalkberg, a secret chamber was unexpectedly discovered in the hill. So far no one has been able to open it. Strange inscriptions on the wall suggest that it could be a hideout of the legendary "Okkulta Lueneburgum." Could this secret brotherhood of alchemists, apothecaries and astronomers really have existed? Until now it was assumed to be more legend than fact.
Legend has it that this secret society around Hennig Brandt in the 17th century researched the production of the "Tinctura Rubea" — a panacea that promises eternal life. Commonly referred to as the "Philosopher’s Stone." The theory is based on the teaching of the four elements (fire, water, air and earth). Everything that exists on earth is said to consist of a mixture of those four elements. If all things (including humans) are composed of such mixtures, they can be altered by adding to them. Aging and disease could then be reversed. It would even be possible to transmute one element into another — for example, into gold. Until today people regarded the brotherhood as legend and the research as nonsense. But what, then, is in that secret chamber?
Can you, as adventurers and archaeologists, uncover this secret? After a 35-minute introduction in the brine solution, you’ll set out with a puzzle backpack and an iPad to Schnellenberger Weg / Am Kalkberg. That’s where your mission begins.
