He became known as the founder of modern medicine and the personal physician to the Japanese imperial family. In his honor, the Japanese Garden was created, where his katana—the Japanese samurai sword—was also displayed. This valuable sword was a gift from the Tenno, the Japanese emperor. But now the beautifully decorated and handcrafted katana has disappeared!
